1. This website

getspeak.ing is operated by DefoAI UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Berlin. It describes the Get Speaking app and links to where it can be obtained. It asks nothing of you and stores nothing about you; see privacy.

2. The app is free software

Get Speaking is free software under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Its source is published at github.com/defoAI/getspeaking. You may use, study, share and modify it under that licence; changes to the licensed files must be published under the same licence. Third-party components bundled with the app keep their own licences, which are listed inside the app and travel with every build. The name and mark "Get Speaking" are not covered by the licence.

3. Not therapy

Get Speaking teaches a skill. It is not therapy, not a diagnosis and not a crisis service, and nothing in it is a substitute for a person who is trained to help. It is for adults. If the fear reaches beyond conversations, or you are in danger, the app's referral card and the emergency services where you live come first. The screening the app runs on day one is a signpost, not an assessment.

4. No warranty

The software and this website are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, as the licence states. In no event shall DefoAI UG (haftungsbeschränkt) be liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from or in connection with the software or its use. [Liability wording — counsel]

5. Giving

Anything you give on the giving page is a voluntary contribution towards the next person's programme, processed by Stripe. It buys no goods or services, unlocks nothing in the app, and the app is never told whether you gave. [Refund and receipt terms — counsel]

What the app says before you start

This is the substance of the screen the app shows before first use and asks you to accept.

A skill, not a treatment

A confidence programme using techniques with evidence, cited where they act. Not therapy. For adults.

Your key, your costs

Model and voice usage is billed by whichever provider you connect — EdenAI or OpenAI — to your own account, at their rates. We add no markup and can neither see nor refund that spend. The app states the cost of a practice before your first one.

Your words stay with you

Everything you write and say in the app lives on your phone. No account, no telemetry, no server. The only traffic leaving your device is the model call you configured.

How it ends

When every goal you set is met, the programme closes, asks once what it was worth, offers your words back as a file, and suggests you delete the app. Nothing happens after that unless you start again.
